But beforeManaging a task that I knew I would be hungry, I initially had something to eat. I wanted a breakfast that was quick and easy, because I wanted to Clarendon, Virginia Festival later with my daughter and some of her friends. I did not want to take time for an omelet or a favorite egg dish with sautéed ham, onions and peppers in scrambled eggs. Yes, that's right, scrambled eggs, no omelette.
I went to the fridge and got a couple of mini-bagels, some peachpreserved and light cream cheese, because it was my idea to have something sweet. However, my eye caught sight of the shallot, juicy plum tomatoes and avocado, I had had on the counter in a guacamole kit I bought on the day before. I knew I wanted the taste. It was not something sweet I wanted.
I pulled the peach preserves to the side and the whole roasted wheat mini bagels. You then get a nice golden color with a nice crunch on the outside and the right amount of softness on theinside. I spread cream cheese on each half for an open sandwich. Then I put some smoked salmon pieces. I use the cases of cold-smoked Nova salmon pieces, great for the budget.
I cut four slices of a plum tomato and a couple of really thin, almost transparent slices of shallot. Out of habit, I looked in the fridge, take control of what I would like to add or spying on half an avocado, I had firmly packed in plastic film from lunch the day before. It was notturned brown, I was happy to see.
To gather all that I have little onion slices directly on the cheese, has a few pieces of smoked salmon and a tomato slice. Then I decorated each half with a few slices of avocado. Wow! What a simple, fast, healthy gourmet breakfast. No deal to drive through fast-food restaurant chain or expensive delicatessen, cafe or bistro. Everything came right from the comfort of my own kitchen.
Uh! Yum! Ofof the time I got to my computer, I had eaten half of one of the bagels. Actually, I ate before I removed myself from the counter. What a quick and healthy meal, which reached in just minutes! I washed it with some delicious hot ginger peach green tea. Now I could write my article about my favorite chocolate cake made without hunger. Better than any restaurant!
